Project Runway Returns!

Darlings, we chalked this up to an April Fool's joke the first time we heard it, but the legitimate sites are reporting it now, so it looks like our long national nightmare is soon to be over. Now we can all go back to bitching about Lifetime.

"NBC Universal, The Weinstein Co. and Lifetime have resolved their disputes," NBC Universal announced in a statement Wednesday. "The Weinstein Co. will pay NBCU for the right to move Project Runway to Lifetime. All of the parties are pleased with the outcome."

"In a statement Wednesday, Harvey Weinstein said, "I want to personally congratulate [NBC president] Jeff Zucker and NBCU on their success in the litigation and thank Jeff for resolving this in a professional manner. We look forward to working together on our ongoing projects."

Added Lifetime President and CEO Andrea Wong, "I couldn't be more excited that Lifetime will bring its viewers an amazing, all-new season of Project Runway THIS SUMMER. All of us at Lifetime are thrilled to move forward with Heidi, Tim, Nina, Michael, The Weinstein Company and the entire Project Runway team."

Project Vincent

"Mutiny Pictures (www.MutinyPictures.net), a Los Angeles-based film company specializing in online branded entertainment and webisode production, has announced a partnership with Project Runway alum Vincent Libretti.

"This project (working title "Project Vincent") represents the perfect branded entertainment opportunity in a credible, new media style," remarked Michael Pierce, CEO & Founder of Mutiny Pictures. "Fashionistas and fans across the globe know the Vincent Libretti name, but not necessarily the full scope of his personality, passion points and ultimately what drives him. 'Project Vincent' will showcase a variety of people and will include celebs as well as everyday people."

Added Libretti: "The beauty of working with non-traditional mediums such as the internet is that it provides a more natural and less-contrived environment for branded
entertainment. Audiences are going to see me, passionate and raw, without creative restrictions and connecting in a way that traditional broadcast TV doesn't allow. I am looking forward to working with companies that share my passion for fashion and overall vision for the project."

Shelley O Watch

Darlings, if we DON'T do a post about Shelley O's outfits for her European trip, our inbox will collapse under the weight of all the missives begging us to do so. We do it for you, kittens. And for the children.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama walk to 'Marine One' as they depart
the White House in Washington, DC. President Obama is on his first visit to Europe.

Black sheath by Michael Kors

Well, at least she seems to have found the right heel height to wear when she's with her husband. Please, Shelley. No more flats. As for this look, it works. It's appropriately First Lady-ish.

President Barack Obama and wife Michelle walk down the steps of Air Force One
at Stansted Airport ahead of the G20 summit in Stansted, England.

Black Michael Kors duster
Her signature Black Azzedine Alaia belt

We don't think wearing a belted duster like that is the best idea for a woman with a set of substantial hips, but it is a stylish and striking look, so points for that. Plus, that's probably the highest a First Lady's hem has ever gone.

when she and the President met Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife Sarah Brow.

J. Crew pencil skirt and sweater

Oh Shelley, honey. No. Just no. Don't get us wrong, they're lovely pieces and we're trying to get behind the whole "thrifty" thing in a time of economic uncertainty, but save the J. Crew pieces for Washington brunches and photo ops in your victory garden. Don't wear them when you're going to meet world leaders for the first time. Besides, pretty as they are, they don't actually go all that well together. You're all washed out and colorless, Shelley! No one wants that!

Carrie Bradshaw's Wedding Dress Sells Out

Carrie Bradshaw's wedding dress designed by Vivienne Westwood sold out in a few hours.

"With a tear-jerking history that may make you reluctant to wear it and a price tag you would expect would make your eyes water, Carrie Bradshaw's wedding dress is firmly enshrined in wedding legend. Despite having been worn by Carrie as she was jilted at the altar, the Vivienne Westwood designed dress is proving popular with brides-to-be - helping it sell out in a matter of hours on net-a-porter.com.

The site launched the knee length version of Carrie's dress yesterday and saw it disappear almost instantly as Bradshaw and Westwood fans alike fought for the gown. Fortunately the cocktail version, which vanished from the site, is still available directly from Vivienne Westwood and costs £4,530.

"For brides-to-be after the genuine article, the long version which Carrie wears in the film can be made-to-order at Westwood's Davies Street store. The cost will depend on the fabric chosen but starts at around £11,000 and will take three to six months to complete. More importantly - if cream isn't your colour - the dress can be made in a fabric of your choice."

Laura Bennett Dressed to Kilt

Laura Bennett attends the 7th annual "Dressed To Kilt" charity fashion show
at M2 Lounge in New York City.

Laura sent us a picture of the dress on her dress form last week. She loved it and so did we. We can't help thinking a "Dress to Kilt" challenge would be perfect for that TV show called Project Runway that we all used to watch. Remember that show?

Although we have to say, seeing it on her, we think she could have ditched the sporran. A little too clunky and literal. Love all the feathers, though.
